いろいろ (iroiro) is a Japanese adjective meaning “various” or “many kinds of things.” The Japanese kanji 色 (iro) also means “color”.  We often crave simplicity in our lives, yet there is so much diversity and color out in the world, it would be a shame to miss out on it.

Whether you are looking to simplify or perhaps add some color to your life, we want to share the sustainable pieces we have discovered in our travels.

Do you want to simplify or add some color to your wardrobe?

いろいろ (iroiro) is a Japanese adjective meaning “various” or “many kinds of things.” The Japanese kanji 色 (iro) also means “color”.

We are a Maori-Japanese mix, my husband Keigo is from Japan, and I, Marama, am from Aotearoa, aka New Zealand.

Like many a traveler, my husband and I have traveled throughout Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia. In each town we visited we saw so much beauty, color, and variety. We would talk about the different things we saw and experienced in each place we visited. Keigo would ask me “what did you enjoy on this trip”, I would reply “iroiro”. There were so many things I enjoyed I could not choose only one thing.

iroiro & co. endeavors to share the beautiful things we have hand picked, from the beautiful places we have visited.

Vintageness

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have temporarily stopped our market stalls. However, we have some more dresses coming soon! Watch this space.

Vintage clothing can transport us back in time, giving us a sense of nostalgia and familiarity.

We love pre-loved vintage clothing. The fabric, style, prints, and colors are so vivid and unique, it’s like you’ve found a little piece of treasure. The thrill of finding a little gem (that is most likely a one of kind), trying it on and seeing that it actually fits is priceless! The fact that it has lasted this long is proof of the quality and craftmanship of the garment.

We hand pick each item, carefully selecting pieces that are unique and wearable.

Sizing

While we cannot dictate how they will fit, we try to get a broad range that can cater to the various shapes and sizes. Many think second-hand vintage dresses only come in size small, however, we do find dresses in all sorts of sizes. I myself am a top heavy, plus size, woman (16-18 NZ depending on the garment), and virtually my whole wardrobe is made up of pre-loved vintage dresses. So it is possible to find beautiful dresses for us slightly more fuller-bodied ladies.
